The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in staggering casualties, with estimates suggesting the number of martyrs could surpass 50,000. Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Information Office in Gaza, stated that thousands remain missing under the rubble of destroyed buildings since the onset of Israeli aggression.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza corroborated these figures, reporting over 40,000 martyrs and 92,401 wounded. Dr. Munir Al-Barsh emphasized the accuracy of the data, asserting that each martyr has a recorded account with the Ministry. Furthermore, estimates suggest the true number could exceed the official count by around 10,000.
Mads Gilbert, head of the Norwegian medical team in Gaza, projected that the actual number of martyrs could be three times higher than reported, potentially ranging between 120,000 and 180,000. He noted that the current war conditions hinder access to victims, complicating efforts to ascertain the true toll of the conflict.
