Gaza Conflict: Military Insights and Resistance Strategies
Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, a military and strategic expert, has provided a detailed analysis of the current situation surrounding the Gaza Strip, highlighting its role as a rear command headquarters for the Israeli occupation army. This area serves as a significant logistical support zone for Israeli forces operating within Gaza. Al-Falahi identifies three critical areas of concentration for the Israeli military: the Netzarim axis, which divides the northern Gaza Strip from its central and southern regions; the Philadelphia axis, which separates Gaza from Egypt; and the border area between Gaza and Israel.
As the conflict escalates, Palestinian resistance factions, notably the Al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, are intensifying their bombardment of these strategic locations using short-range missiles. Al-Falahi points out that Israeli forces become easy targets for resistance attacks once they halt their incursions into Gaza. He emphasizes that despite a prolonged military operation in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, Israeli forces have struggled to maintain control, indicating a significant challenge for the occupation army.
Ongoing Battles and Attrition Warfare
The situation remains tense as battles continue, particularly in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, where Israeli military operations have been ongoing for three months with six brigades deployed. Al-Falahi warns that the resistance has demonstrated resilience, suggesting that while the Israeli army can penetrate Gaza, it fails to establish control due to heavy losses and limited resources. He criticizes the Israeli military for underreporting its casualties to maintain morale and manage internal perceptions.
This war of attrition is evident across various regions of the Gaza Strip, with new operations reported in Khan Yunis, the Bureij camp, and the northern areas of Nuseirat camp. The Al-Qassam Brigades have claimed responsibility for inflicting casualties on Israeli forces, further complicating the military landscape. As the conflict persists, the dynamics of warfare in Gaza continue to evolve, with both sides adapting their strategies in response to ongoing developments.
