G7 Summit in Bari: Firm Stance Against Russia and China
The superstructure of Western world power synthesized in the Group of the Seven most industrialized democracies, the G7, convened at the Bari summit. The G7 reaffirmed their commitment “for as long as necessary” and confirmed a $50 billion loan to Ukraine, secured by Russian assets, a move that Moscow denounced as “theft” and promised “extremely painful” consequences.
Geopolitical and Trade Tensions
The G7 leaders expressed strong criticism of China’s trade practices and called for Beijing to adhere to international trade rules. They issued a stern warning to Iran to cease its military aid to Russia and halt its nuclear escalation. The G7 also called on Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA to ensure that its nuclear program remains peaceful.
