Rising Concerns over Antisemitism in French Education

Fifteen students from the Jewish school 'Yavna' in Paris have raised allegations of antisemitism after receiving unusually low grades in their final oral exams. These students, who were tested at the 'Charles de Foucault' school, reported a tense atmosphere and claimed they were treated disparagingly. According to 'Le Figaro', the students' grades ranged from 4 to 8 out of 20, which is highly unusual for the prestigious school known for its high academic standards.
The school's administration has acknowledged receiving warnings from parents about aggressive attitudes from the examiners. A recent survey by the Human Rights Organization of the European Union revealed that 96 percent of Jews on the continent experienced antisemitism in the past year. In France, 83 percent of Jewish individuals reported occasionally hiding their identity since the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7. These statistics underline the pervasive nature of antisemitism and the urgent need for effective measures to combat it.
