As part of the ongoing Israeli occupation, the pastoral settlement policy has intensified in the West Bank, leading to severe repercussions for Palestinian Bedouin communities. This policy aims to annex vast territories by supporting settler militias who attack and displace Palestinians from their homes, particularly in areas like Al-Marajat.
Recent reports highlight the harrowing experiences of Bedouin families, such as Jamal Suleiman, who describe living in constant fear as settlers illegally claim ownership of their livestock and land. The situation has escalated to the point where approximately 150 Palestinian families have been forcibly displaced, facing the destruction of their homes and livelihoods.
Organizations monitoring the situation, like Al-Baidar, label these actions as state-sponsored terrorism, emphasizing that the Israeli government backs settlers in their aggressive expansion. With the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the frequency of settler raids has surged, resulting in the appropriation of over 220 thousand dunums of Palestinian land.
Palestinians in these Bedouin communities are left with no option but to resist these encroachments, as the Israeli establishment continues to facilitate the settlers' agenda, undermining international law and the rights of the indigenous population.
