The head of the educational institution is responsible for organizing the provision of meals to students. Depending on the training mode (shift), students are provided with hot meals in the form of breakfast and (or) lunch. At the same time, the duration of the break for eating should be at least 20 minutes, and the intervals between meals for students are recommended to be at least 2-3 hours and no more than 4-5 hours.

The methodological recommendations specify that first-shift students receive breakfast (a hot meal and a drink) during the second or third break, the experts said. This meal should cover 20-25% of the daily caloric intake. Berries, fruits, and vegetables are also recommended.

In modern conditions, educational institutions can either independently organize the entire process or enter into contracts with food service operators who will offer a package of services. The head of the educational institution will still be responsible to the parents for the nutrition and health of the children.
