Elon Musk to Inject $45 Million Monthly into Pro-Trump Super PAC

Elon Musk plans to donate $45 million monthly to 'America PAC,' a super PAC supporting Donald Trump's campaign, aiming to boost voter turnout in swing states.

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, plans to donate approximately $45 million per month to 'America PAC,' a super PAC supporting Donald Trump's presidential campaign, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Created in late May, 'America PAC' is a political action committee that legally supports campaign activities such as advertising and field operations without directly financing a candidate.

The super PAC focuses on encouraging Republican supporters in key swing states to register to vote and take advantage of early voting options. Documents from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) reveal that notable donors to 'America PAC' include the Winklevoss twins, known for their early involvement in Facebook and cryptocurrency investments, and Douglas Leone, a partner at Sequoia Capital.

Despite not appearing in the initial list of contributors, Elon Musk, whose fortune is estimated at $252 billion, intends to start his donations this month. If his plans materialize, it would mark one of the largest individual contributions in U.S. electoral history. The largest known donation for the 2024 election so far is from Tim Mellon, who has given $50 million to another pro-Trump super PAC and over $100 million in total, supporting both Republicans and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy.

In March, Musk stated he would not financially support any candidate, but he has since publicly declared his support for Donald Trump. This significant financial backing could play a crucial role in the upcoming election, particularly in swing states where voter turnout can be pivotal.
