The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that a high-precision missile strike was executed on the 179th Joint Training Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Poltava on September 3, resulting in significant casualties.
Reports suggest that foreign instructors were present at the training facility, which specialized in preparing communications and electronic warfare specialists, as well as drone operators for the Ukrainian military.
Ukrainian officials acknowledged the strike, with President Volodymyr Zelensky stating that the attack resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries, while some sources claim the casualty numbers may be much higher than reported.
The incident highlights the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the involvement of NATO countries in training Ukrainian forces.
