DAZN Extends Discount on Ligue 1 Subscriptions Amid Positive Feedback

In a move to retain and attract subscribers, British streaming platform DAZN has announced an extension of its promotional pricing for Ligue 1 subscriptions until the end of September. Initially set from September 10 to 22, the promotion has received "very good feedback" from fans and clubs alike, prompting DAZN to continue offering the annual subscription at a reduced rate of 19.99 euros per month, down from the regular price of 29.99 euros. Brice Daumin, CEO of DAZN France, emphasized that the feedback from the Ligue 1 community has been overwhelmingly positive, stating, "The price has really become a non-issue... we have all of Ligue 1, all of Betclic Elite, MMA, and combat sports."

In addition to the annual subscription, DAZN is also offering a monthly subscription deal at 19.99 euros for the first two months, transitioning to 39.99 euros thereafter. This pricing strategy aims to combat the surge in illegal streaming methods that have emerged due to initial criticisms of DAZN's subscription rates. Daumin noted that the platform is working closely with regulatory bodies and sports associations to tackle piracy, highlighting that the issue extends beyond DAZN itself.

DAZN's Commitment to Ligue 1 and Future Prospects

DAZN has secured the broadcasting rights for eight Ligue 1 matches per day until 2029, including key fixtures like the Olympico and the game between Stade Rennais and RC Lens. The platform's strategy includes not only live sports but also exclusive documentaries and reports on clubs and players, enhancing the overall viewer experience.

While DAZN has not disclosed specific subscriber figures, Daumin claims that the satisfaction of clubs and fans is a key measure of success. He believes that the platform's digital-first approach is transforming the consumption of sports, allowing for a more interactive experience with fans through social media and digital ecosystems. As DAZN continues to evolve, it aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem that includes merchandising and ticketing, further engaging its audience.

This promotional period presents an excellent opportunity for fans to engage with Ligue 1, as well as other sports leagues, at a significantly reduced rate. Don't miss out on the chance to subscribe to DAZN's unlimited offer at just 19.99 euros per month for the first two months.
