Five defendants in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack case have appealed their extended arrest until November 22, 2024. The Basmanny District Court received complaints regarding the preventive measures against Alisher Kasimov, Isroil Islomov, Dilovar Islomov, and Aminchon Islomov. These appeals follow the arrest of Muhammadsobir Fayzov, who allegedly agreed to carry out the attack for a payment of 500,000 rubles.
The Basmanny Court previously extended the arrest of four defendants, adding new charges of participating in a terrorist organization and training for terrorism. Muhammad Zoir Sharipzoda, one of the defendants, has partially admitted guilt in facilitating the attack and is cooperating with the investigation. Eyewitnesses have implicated him in the attack, which is one of the largest terrorist incidents in Russian history.
The Investigative Committee is continuing to gather testimonies from those present during the attack, examining the actions of the militants and the safety measures in place at Crocus City Hall. Victims have filed a class action lawsuit against the Ingosstrakh insurance company, seeking compensation for losses incurred during the attack. However, the Zamoskvoretsky Court has left the lawsuit unresolved, citing undisclosed reasons.
The attack on March 22 resulted in 145 fatalities and over 550 injuries, with the attackers opening fire and subsequently igniting a fire in the concert hall. Investigations are ongoing, focusing on safety violations and the actions of the concert hall management during the emergency.
