According to a CNN report based on data from CarbonPlan - a non-profit research group focused on climate science, within a few decades most of the world's cities will not be able to host the Olympics in the summer months due to global warming.
The fear is that the high heat and humid conditions will harm the health of the athletes who may suffer from dehydration, sunstroke, and in some cases even reach life-threatening conditions due to the heavy heat.
The possible solution is to change the date of the Olympics and move it to months when the weather is more favorable or to hold them in places where the months of July and August are part of the winter season or transitional seasons with a comfortable temperature.
As for 2036, there are many open questions after ten countries expressed interest in hosting the games.
