ZF Friedrichshafen Maintains Christmas Bonus Amid Economic Challenges
As the German economy grapples with significant challenges, ZF Friedrichshafen, one of the largest automotive suppliers globally, has confirmed it will continue to provide its employees with a Christmas bonus in 2024. Despite announcing a restructuring plan that could lead to the loss of up to 14,000 jobs by 2028, the company remains committed to supporting its workforce during these tough times. The Christmas bonus, which is based on the collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry, will range from 25 to 60 percent of a gross monthly salary, depending on employees' length of service and tariff area.
For instance, a team leader could receive a gross bonus of up to €4,384.80, while warehouse workers may receive around €1,954.80. This special payment will be included in the November salary, providing employees with financial relief before the holiday season.

In France, the Christmas bonus, officially known as the "exceptional end-of-year aid," is set to be paid on December 13, 2024. This initiative, announced by Minister Paul Christophe, aims to support low-income households, with approximately 2.2 million households expected to benefit. The standard amount for a single recipient is €152.45, with additional sums available for families with dependent children. For instance, a single-parent family with one child could receive €308.72. The payment will be automatically transferred to eligible recipients' bank accounts between December 14 and 16, ensuring timely financial assistance during the festive season.
