Matteo Berrettini has been recognized as the ATP's 'Comeback Player of the Year' for 2024 after a remarkable resurgence in his tennis career. The Italian player, who had fallen out of the top 150 rankings, has climbed back to 34th place, thanks to his impressive performance this year. Berrettini secured three ATP titles in Marrakech, Gstaad, and Kitzbuhel, and also contributed to Italy's success in the Davis Cup. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard Awarded Most Improved Player
In addition to Berrettini's accolade, Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has been named the ATP's 'Most Improved Player' of 2024. The 21-year-old from Lyon made a significant leap in the rankings, moving from above 200th to 31st place. His success includes winning the ATP 250 in Lyon and the ATP 500 in Basel, marking his first titles on the ATP circuit. Perricard expressed his delight at receiving the award, emphasizing the hard work of his team and his eagerness for the upcoming season.
