Arab Celebrities Celebrate the Fall of Assad's Regime
In a historic turn of events, the Syrian opposition has successfully overthrown the regime of Bashar al-Assad, marking the end of over six decades of Baath Party rule in Syria. This monumental shift has sparked a wave of celebrations among Arab celebrities who took to social media to express their support for the Syrian people. Bassem Youssef, a prominent media figure, shared heartfelt congratulations, emphasizing the need for safety and peace for the citizens of Syria. He stated, "One can only pray for the safety and security of the people of Syria and for their safe return to their homes and lands, safe and sound."
Lebanese singer Elissa also expressed her sentiments by sharing a poignant post about her cousin, a Lebanese prisoner found alive in Syrian jails, reflecting on the suffering endured by many under Assad's regime. Meanwhile, Fadl Shaker celebrated the victory of the Syrian people, stating, "Today, new lines will be written in the history of Syria... Syria has been liberated and we are all free today."
