The children of Princess Kate and Prince William have shared their first Instagram post. Charlotte, Louis and George show a private family photo and send sweet words to dad William.
London - Fans of the British royals will remember last Saturday (June 15) for a long time. After all, Princess Kate (42) appeared in public for the first time since her cancer diagnosis at the birthday parade of King Charles (75). Of course, her husband Prince William (41) and their three children were there too: Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6). After the family appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the trio has now made a stirring first post on Instagram.
Princess Kate's children are allowed to post on Instagram for the first time: declaration of love to father Prince William
June 16 is Father's Day in England. Kate Middleton and William's children are using this occasion to take over their parents' Instagram account for the first time. One photo shows Prince William arm in arm with his two sons and his daughter on a beach. The four British royals are looking out over the wide sea. The caption contains a touching message to their father: "We love you, Dad. Happy Father's Day."
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have added two pink hearts to the sweet words. They also added their initials, which show that this is the children's first Instagram post. Private messages from Princess Kate are marked with a "C" for Catherine on the family's shared account, while posts from William are marked with his initial.
Louis, Charlotte and George share photo with Prince William – behind the camera was mom Kate
Fans may have noticed another detail in the sweet Father's Day greetings: The photo is not a posed shot by a professional photographer - it was probably Princess Kate, who is suffering from cancer, who was behind the camera. This is revealed by her traditional title "Princess of Wales" behind a camera emoji. The private family photo was taken in May 2024 during a family trip to Norfolk in the east of England.
This will not come as a surprise to some royal fans. After all, some of them know that Princess Kate has been an ambitious amateur photographer for years and shares her snapshots, for example of Princess Charlotte, on Instagram. The 41-year-old even wrote her final thesis for her art history degree on children's photographs.
Before posting from his own children, Prince William also dedicated a post to his father King Charles
For Father's Day, Prince William also made sure to dedicate a post to his father. This appeared shortly before the Royal Kids' post. The photo shows Prince William as a little boy playing ball with his father, King Charles III, in the garden. Below it reads: "Happy Father's Day, Pa. W." According to the BBC, the photo was taken
on
June 12, 1984, a few months before Prince Harry (39) was born.
The activity on Princess Kate and Prince William's Instagram account will certainly please fans. There is also a particularly high hope that the children will now post together more often. At the "Trooping the Colour" military parade, Prince Louis recently entertained everyone with grimaces and a little dance.
