Record-Breaking Nominations for the 2024 Emmy Awards
The 76th edition of the Emmy Awards sees a shake-up in the usual contenders, with 'The Bear' and 'Shōgun' leading the charge in the comedy and drama categories, respectively. The nominees for this year's Emmys were announced by Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale, with 'The Bear' earning an impressive 23 nominations, surpassing the previous comedy series record set by '30 Rock' in 2009. 'Shōgun' topped the drama category with 25 nominations.

'The Crown' remains the only drama series from last year to be nominated again. Other notable drama series include 'The Morning Show,' 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith,' and 'Slow Horses.' In the comedy category, 'Abbott Elementary,' 'Only Murders in the Building,' and 'The Bear' return, joined by new nominees like 'Hacks' and 'Reservation Dogs.'

The Emmy Awards this year also feature expanded categories and notable nominations. Quinta Brunson from 'Abbott Elementary' and Jeremy Allen White from 'The Bear' lead the comedy acting nominations. In the drama category, Imelda Staunton from 'The Crown' and Hiroyuki Sanada from 'Shōgun' are strong contenders.
